Context

Matchbox is an Australian Kitchenware brand that required a lead designer to take full creative responsibility for their brand, marketing and seasonal visual merchandising campaigns.

Branding

Mel was involved in the development of the Matchbox rewards program, implementing various flows across Klaviyo and discussing the best strategies to bring this to program to life. She designed the Rewards icon and created advertising across both digital and print mediums. She ensured the integrity of the Matchbox brand by communicating brand guidelines and professionally presenting the best creative strategies for seasonal visual merchandising campaigns.

Visual Merchandising

Mel coordinated and executed campaigns featuring window decals, posters, banners, bunting, and props across 26 stores in Australia. Mel communicated with visual merchandisers and effectively problem-solved to adapt designs for various storefronts. She also designed large print-ready files, created annotated print spreadsheets, and managed the production of print materials for all Matchbox stores nationwide.

Creative Strategy

Quarterly briefs were presented for upcoming visual merchandising campaigns, including Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, sales, and occasional product feature campaigns. This process involved researching, developing, and pitching creative concepts to both the marketing and supplier teams. Each campaign was designed to adhere to budget and time constraints while maintaining creativity and ensuring alignment with the Matchbox brand strategy.
