Making everyday matter.

Melinda Bouwmans

Hey, I’m Melinda, a Brand Consultant and Creative Strategist with a background in visual communication and a passion for branding.

I hold a Bachelor of Visual Communication and began my career in-house at an Australian retailer, where I built a strong foundation in brand management and campaign coordination. In 2019, I launched Melbdesign, offering illustration and freelance design services. Over the past six years, I’ve worked with clients ranging from small businesses to established brands, helping shape their visual identities and strategic direction.

But my creative journey took a turn when I quit my job and paused my business to follow my curiosities. I traveled solo to New York, lived with backpackers in North Queensland, launched the Amusing podcast, tried bartending, snapped photos in front of the Eiffel tower and tasted real Italian gelato for the first time. I used my time to travel, write, read, reflect and share meaningful conversations with new people everywhere I went.

This chapter of reflection and romance with life led to the creation of Everyday Different – a creative studio built on the belief that meaningful work comes from taking the time to be curious and uncover what really matters.

Whether it’s branding, design, photography, storytelling, or strategy, I focus on understanding and purpose. I believe creative work doesn’t need to shout; it needs to resonate and last. Not by reinventing the wheel, but by carefully crafting and reshaping what already exists with new purposeful meaning.

In a world of overconsumption and surface-level content, I admire brands that are thoughtful, resourceful, and not rushed. I believe everyday people, projects, and brands carry untapped stories waiting to be written. Yours might be the next.

Things that matter.

Meaningful work. Nostalgia. Romance. Reflection. Authenticity. Questions. Honest conversations. Passion Projects. Connection. Mental health. Language. Travel. Culture. People.

Pistachio ice cream. The siberian tiger population. Saving bugs in the pool. Who gives a crap the brand. Substack articles. Peppermint tea. Decaf coffee. Sunday markets. Telling people you love them. Changing your car oil.  Regular poops. Flowers. Film cameras. Morning walks. Doggy bags. Fresh sheets. Everything showers. Shopping lists. Hugs.

If you are on a mission to make something matter, I would love to hear from you.
